# Used by

> Check which segments and destinations depend on a single entry before you change it.

The **Used by** tab of an entry lists everything that consumes it: the destination versions that publish it and the segments that contain it.

| Column           | Holds                                                                 |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Type**         | **Destination** or **Segment**                                        |
| **Name** | A link that opens the destination version or the segment in a new tab |
| **Status** | The destination's publishing state, or whether the segment is in use |
| **Last updated** | When that destination or segment last changed |

Use **Search by name** and the **Type** filter to narrow a long list.

An entry that nothing consumes shows an empty state instead of the table.

<Info>
  The left panel of the entry carries a shorter version of the same information — **Used by Destinations** — visible from every tab, so you can see the publishing impact while editing values.
</Info>

This is the entry-level view. For the same question at card level, see [Track card usage](/guides/studio/cards/track-usage); for a segment, [Track segment usage](/guides/studio/segments/track-usage).
