The notification centre reports background import and export tasks and hands you the finished files.
Imports and exports do not block the page you started them from — they run in the background and report into the Notifications panel. This is also where you collect an export once it is ready.
The bell sits in the top bar of every page, between the environment switcher and your avatar.A red dot on the bell means at least one export is still running. Click it to open the panel.
Each entry names the file and the stage it has reached. Which controls appear depends on that stage:
Stage
What you see

Queued
Waiting to start, and a note that another task of the same kind is still running
Cancel

Completed

Failed

Only one import and one export run at a time. A second task queues behind the first rather than running alongside it, so a large export delays the next one.
Click Download on a completed export. The panel shows the download’s own progress while the file transfers, which is separate from the progress of generating it.
Exports are started from the Catalog, either from a selection of entries or from the toolbar’s actions menu. See Export entries.
Each entry has its own × to remove it, and Clear in the panel header removes every entry at once.
Removing a notification also removes its download link. Download the file before you clear it — the export itself is not re-runnable from here, you would have to export again.
